Description of Pictures: In conjunction with the 2006 Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, the Charles Guggenheim Center for the Documentary Film and the Center for the National Archives Experience present "A Life: The Story of Lady Bird Johnson" (1992), the story of one of America’s most remarkable First Ladies and her lasting legacy to the nation. Lady Bird Johnson was a pioneer in the environmental movement, organizing a national effort to beautify our highways, neighborhoods, and communities. A Life tells her enchanting story, from her youth in a remote Texas town to her marriage to one of the most powerful and complex men in American politics and her emergence as a leader in her own right. The archival material from the Johnson Library illustrates the richness of her life. Written, directed, and narrated by Charles Guggenheim. Produced by Grace Guggenheim. (57 minutes.)
Welcome by Sharon Fawcett, Assistant Archivist for Presidential Libraries, National Archives. A post-screening discussion with Grace Guggenheim, president, Guggenheim Productions, and Bess Abell, Lady Bird’s social secretary and board member of the Foundation for the National Archives, will be moderated by Jack Valenti, formerly CEO and president of the Motion Picture Association of America and special assistant to President Johnson.

NALBJ_060324_321.JPG: Chuck Robb served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 1978 to 1982 and governor from 1982 to 1986. He later was a member of the U.S. Senate from 1989 until 2001. Robb's wife, Lynda Robb, also known as Lynda Bird Johnson, is the daughter of former U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson. Despite a sex scandal, Robb narrowly defeated former Iran-Contra figure Oliver North in a 1994 reelection bid. He was defeated in 2000. On February 6, 2004, Robb was appointed co-chair of the Iraq Intelligence Commission, an independent panel tasked with investigating U.S. intelligence surrounding the United States' 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

2006 photos: Equipment this year: I was using all six Fuji cameras at various times -- an S602Zoom, two S7000s,a S5200, an S9000, and an S9100. The majority of pictures this year were taken with the S9000. I have to say, the S7000s was the best camera I've used up to this point..
